Welcome
to our redemption counter section. As we are operators of three
Family Fun Parks in the Chicago area, we thought it would be
a good idea to share with you what we do for our redemption
counters.
Our whole goal is to set up our redemption counters to look
like retail stores. We want to WOW our customers when they first
walk into our facilities - give them something great to play
for. Over the many years in operating our parks, we found a
formula that works great. Simply put: The better
the prizes we offer, the more money we make!!
We have learned over the years that our prizes
drive the income of our games. We use licenced product as the
perceived value is the greatest. We talk to our customers to
see what they want to play for.
We attend shows to see what is hot and what is up and coming.
Our buyers source products which make our players want to play
more and earn the items of their choice.
The pictures should give you a better idea of the product we
use. Feel free to duplicate what we do.
There is no harm in using what works for us and making it work
for you. Keep a close eye on how we display the prizes as this
is very important. Again, make sure your redemption counter(s)
WOW your customers. This keeps them playing and coming back
time and time again.
Some key
things to remember: |
|
|
- Keep
your bins/trays full!! There is no room in your
counter for half empty trays or ones with three or four
items in them.
- Incorporate
board games (Monopoly, Candy Land, Trouble...)
to your mix. These are great family games and we sell a
ton of them.
- Use
licensed products.
People instantly relate to these items and it increases
the value of your counter as well as your whole facility.
- Candy
is a great seller and a good margin product. What
kid does not like candy?!!
- Have
items for the parents, especially MOM! We have
blenders, toasters and the like (see picture) and they sell
well for us. It also shows your customers you care about
them, not only their children.
- Find
items that say "I love you Mom" and "I love
you Dad." These types of products go over
extremely well, and it gives the kids a chance to say "Thank
You."
It is amazing to see how many great kids there are out there
who will use their tickets to buy these items for their
parents.
